Since the Mandalorian debut three years ago, my children and I love to watch it on Friday night as a part of Family movies night. The children both natural and supernatural love Grogru and the action-packed excitement that they get to see every episode. The other night that got me thinking about how the Mandalorian storyline and foster care really mirror each other.

The Mandalorians are a fictional culture in the Star Wars universe, known for their warrior spirit and unique customs. Among these customs is their approach to foster care, which is an important part of their society. In this blog post, we’ll explore the Mandalorian culture and its unique approach to foster care.

First, it’s important to understand the Mandalorian culture. The Mandalorians are a nomadic people who place great emphasis on honor, strength, and loyalty. They are renowned for their warrior skills, and their armor and weapons are some of the most advanced in the galaxy. Mandalorians are also known for their tight-knit communities, which are based on a sense of family and shared values.

In this community, foster care is an integral part of Mandalorian culture. In fact, it is a longstanding tradition that dates back centuries. Mandalorians believe that children are the future of their culture, and they place a great deal of importance on raising them to become strong and honorable adults.

When a child is orphaned or otherwise in need of a home, Mandalorian families will often take them in and raise them as their own. This is not seen as a burden, but rather as a privilege and a duty. Mandalorian foster parents are expected to provide for the child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, as well as teach them the values of their culture.

The Mandalorian approach to foster care is unique in several ways. Firstly, it is not uncommon for multiple families to be involved in the upbringing of a single child. This is because Mandalorians place great value on community and believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Foster children are often brought up in extended families, with aunts, uncles, and cousins all playing a role in their upbringing.

Additionally, Mandalorian foster care is not limited to children of Mandalorian blood. In fact, Mandalorians are known to take in children from all walks of life, including those of different species and cultures. This is because they believe that all children have the potential to become strong and honorable members of their society, regardless of their background.

Finally, Mandalorian foster care is not a temporary arrangement. When a child is taken in by a Mandalorian family, they are considered a permanent part of that family. This means that even when the child reaches adulthood, they are still considered a member of their foster family and are expected to uphold the values of their culture.

In conclusion, the Mandalorian culture places great importance on foster care as a way of raising strong and honorable members of their society. Their approach is unique in that it involves multiple families and is not limited to children of Mandalorian blood. By embracing this tradition, Mandalorians ensure that their culture will continue to thrive for generations to come.
